Spanish 1:8 Buggy Nats – Rd. 2

The 2nd Rd. of Spanish Nat Championship, was held in Montjuic track (Barcelona), near the Olympic Stadium.

107 Drivers attended the race. Saturday was sunny and clear with nothing remarkable.
After the qualifying rounds the provisional classification was the following:

On Sunday morning while 1/16^th final, the sky turned unexpectedly black and the “great flood” happened over Barcelona track.

The track was half flooded and race director decided to cancel the Race. Some drivers were disappointed because 30 minutes later the Sun appeared again, and they thought they could have completed the race.

However, the Race director thought that with the necessary time to set up the track again and the race time remaining, they would finish latte in the evening, and some drivers had to make up to 1.000 kms to get back home.

So that, the final result is the same as Saturday qualifying heats.

Next Round will be held in Canary Island, at Telde track.

Cto. España 1:8 TT . Montjuic

El último fin de semana de abril se disputó la segunda prueba del Cto. de España 1:8 TT en el circuito de Montjuic (Barcelona).

La jornada del Sábado, se disputó dentro de la normalidad, cumpliendo con el horario previsto y dio lugar a la siguiente clasificación provisional:

El Domingo alrededor de las 9:00 mientras se disputaban 1/16 de final el cielo se tornó oscuro y dos nubes que pasaban por allí, vaciaron todo su contenido sobre el circuito de Montjuic, que acabó parcialmente anegado e impracticable.La organización de la carrera, decidió dar por concluida la prueba dando como válida la clasificación de la jornada anterior. Algunos pilotos se mostraron contrariados por la suspensión.

La dirección de la prueba entendió que aún cabiendo la posibilidad de haber conseguido dejar el circuito en condiciones de volver a rodar, la carrera hubiera terminado a útima hora de la tarde y que muchos pilotos debían volver a sus lugares de residencia, lo que en algunos casos puede representar 1.000 kilómetros de viaje.

La próxima prueba tendrá lugar en el circuito de Telde (Gran Canaria).

Open Portugal 2009

El pasado 15 de febrero,  se disputó en Torres Vedras el Open de Portugal 1:8 TT, primera prueba de la temporada.

Al cierre de las clasificatorias del Sábado Ricardo Monteiro se hizo con la pole.
La pista quedó seriamente afectada después de las clasificatorias con varios saltos complicados y agujeros, lo que obligó a los 12 participantes de la final a revisar sus set-up para afrontar con garantías la prueba.
En las primeras vueltas de la final Rodrigo Luis (Team-Magic/Siim/Merlin Fuel), se colocó líder y puso tierra de por medio, manteniendo siempre 1-2 vueltas de ventaja sobre su inmediato perseguidor.

La clasificación final:

1.Rodrigo Luis (Team Magic B8RS/Siim/Merlin Fuel) - 71 laps

2. Pedro Figueiredo – 70 laps

3. Nuno Casal Ribeiro – 70 laps

4. Ricardo Monteiro – 69 laps

Winterchamps 2009

El fin de semana pasado se celebró la primera carrera del Winterchamps 2009.
El circuito Mach One en Helomond (Holanda) fue el elegido para esta primera ronda, sin embrago, las adversas condiciones climatológicas aconsejaron trasladar el evento a la pista de NBR en Mol (Bélgica).

La predicción meteorológica hacía presagiar lluvia también en Bélgica, sin embargo, la lluvia sólo hozo acto de presencia en las primeras clasificatorias y la pista se mantuvo en buenas condiciones durante la prueba.

Después de las primeras clasificatorias, Daniel Reckward (Ger) fue el más rápido en 1:8TT y Bas De Konik, fue el más rápido en la categoría Truggy.

El piloto local Kim Verheyden fue el más rápido en las segundas clasificatorias, pero aún así Daniel Reckward consiguió la pole global, seguido del acutal campeón Holandés y Team Driver Merlin Jorg Van Leuken.

En la categoría Truggy, Blas De Konik, se hizo con la pole seguido de Mark Van Waaijenburg y Matthijs Jansen

Ya en la final, Jorg Van Leuken lideró la carrera en las primeras vueltas, hasta que una avería le hizo perder la posición en beneficio de Daniel Reckward, vencedor a la postre de la prueba.

Winterchamps 2009 – 1st Round

Last Sunday took place the first round of WinterChamps managed by Robitronic.

The Mach One at Helmond (Netherlands) was the first location for the race. However, due to the bad weather and track conditions, it was moved to NBR track at Mol (Belgium)

The weather forecast was predicting bad weather.

Finally it was just some rain during lower finals and the track was dry and in good condition most of the time.

After the first qualifying round, Daniel Reckward (GE) was the fastest in 1:8 Buggy, and Bas De Konik (NL) was the fastest in Truggy.

The local driver Kim Verheyden was the fastest in the 2nd qualifying round, but Daniel Reckward took the TQ, followed by the Dutch Buggy Champion and Merlin Team Driver Jorg van Leuken.

In Truggy Bas De Konik was the fastest again taking the TQ followed by Mark van Waaijenburg and Matthijs Jansen.

In the main Final Jorg Van Leuken took the first place, but after a few laps he had some trouble with one servo and was overtaken by Daniel Reckaward who finally won the race followed by Van Leuken and Sascha Nelson.

Endurance Catalunya 2008

Last Sunday, took place the Endurance Reg. Championships of Catalunya at RACBSA track near Barcelona.

7 teams with 2 members each, took part in the 3 hours non-stop race. The race was quite difficult due to mud in the track that made difficult the driving for the first half of it.

Carlos Pineda and Josep Galisteo Managed to refuel over 7:30 minutes with the new Merlin Pro-racing EVO 1, what gave them a good advantage for such a long race.

After a fake first start, due to some technical problems, Jaume Figuls/Pedro Villalba took some advantage and they were leading the race.

However they lost the leading position in the first relay, when Pineda/Galisteo started to push hard and they maintained the leading position until the end of the race.
