Robert Batlle, New Merlin Fuel Team Driver
We are delighted to announce that former European Champion, Worlds finalist and multiple Spanish Nat Champion, Robert Batlle, will be joining our international race team for the following 2 seasons.
Here is what he had to say:
“I’m really excited to be part of one of the best fuel brands around the world. They provide me all I need for my engine and my run time, so I cannot want anything else.
We ( my dad and myself ) will help in the development of all Merlin products the best we can and we hope to offer to all customers the best option to buy. I would like to thank Nitrolux to support me during all past years.
We keep in touch and remember, the track is open, and I’m ready to race!

Truggy Cup Rd. 7 travelling from Oberhausen to Helmond
Last weekend took place the 7th Rd. of Truggy Cup at Helmond. Coming from Oberhousen where we used to have a good friend (rest in Peace), who predicted the Spanish victory at World Cup, Paul the Octopus.
We do not know for sure if Paul had time enough before dying to predict also Bas De Konik victory in last round.
Unfortunately Helmond track appeared really wet on sunday morning. The attendance was not so high as in previuos rounds, maybe becasue of the weather forecast.
This was the final result:

1 – Bas de Konink
2 – Dave Liekens (Merlin Fuel)

Netherlands Cup last Rd. – RC-Speedhouse report
Last Sunday it was the final race of the Exceedcup. With 59 drivers for the last race it’s obvious that the guys from Exceedcup did a good job during the 2010 season.
The fact that hobby and sportsman class already knew their champion before the start of the last race didn’t slow the drivers. The battle for other top places was still going on.
We saw Jeffrey Halsema taking TQ in front of 2010 champion Jorg van Leuken and Paul Geelen.
A-final had 10 drivers, all sportsman class with exception of Rene Kuijpers. From the start there was no stopping on Jeffrey Halsema who’s Mugen Mbx6 simply outran the others and who lapped everyone during the race. We saw a battle for second place between Jorg van Leuken and Rene van Schaijk untill mechanical problems forced van Schaijk to drop down. Comfortable second place for van Leuken. Paul Geelen toke third place in front
of Jan Eichhorn and Dave Liekens.
Hobbyclass was won by Rene Kuijpers in front of 2010 champ Jasper van Duppen and Rajco van der Sluijs.
After the race Exceedcup sponsors had made a nice tombola where all regular drivers got a nice price.
With this final race we closed a great buggy racing season, the best have won !

Truggy Cup – Oberhausen
Last weekend the drivers of the Truggycup were racing at the great track of Oberhausen.
Together with this event there was a round of NRW cup.
These 2 cups resulted in 68 drivers on sunday morning.
The weather was dry and the people of Stoppelhopser Oberhausen had everything under control to make it a great day.
TQ was taken by the Xray of Jorg van Leuken, in front of Dave Liekens (mugen mbx6T) and Kris Verlies (Losi).
Main final was mixed truggycup and Nrw which resulted in 8 truggycup and 4 nrw drivers.
From the start of the final dutch Jorg van Leuken and Belgian Dave Liekens ran away, they were both to strong for all other competitors. After 30 minutes the gap between Jorg van Leuken and Dave Liekens was only 3 seconds, so very close racing. Jorg van Leuken took victory in front of Dave Liekens and Bas de Konink.
