El intenso calor sigue sin dar tregua a los participantes y mecánicas en el Cto. de Europa 1/8.
Durante la mañana de hoy, la mayor parte de pilotos, se siguen concentrando en buscar una autonomía suficiente para afrontar con ciertas garantías las clasificatiorias de mañana viernes. Algunos que ya han conseguido esos 5 minutos, están trabajando ahora en buscar el balance con sus tiempos.
El mejor tiempo durante la mañana de hoy ha sido para Michael Salven a quien vemos en la foto con un estratosférico 17.480.
Muy cerca de él han estado rodando pilotos como Maximo Fantini y Robert Piestch. Lamberto Collari, sigue con algún problema de dirección y no acaba de encontrar los reglajes óptimos para el circuito.
El Belga Robin D’Hont, es otro de los pilotos que han conseguido una autonomía aceptable con unos buenos tiempos de vuelta sostenidos.

Campeonato de Europa 1:8 Pista
El próximo lunes, comienza el campeonato de Europa de 1:8 pista, que este año se celebra en España. El Club Autet de Almussafes ha sido la pista elegida.
Merlin dispondrá de un stand en el circuito e informará de los principales acontecimientos de cada jornada.

Portuguese North 1:10 Championship
The Portuguese Nat. Championship - North, took place last weekend in Vila Real
Filipe Pinheiro got the 1st place in the extremely fast Portuguese track, where it is quite hard to complete 30 minutes without tyre changing and not every driver is able to run 5 minutes with one fuel tank.

Connolly is 2008 Irish Champion
With the 6th round yet to be run, Clive Connolly has retained his National Title, winning the 5th round last Sunday in St. Annes Track.

Starting from pole the Team Serpent Ireland driver cruised to victory, despite an early tyre stop, to win ahead of the Kyosho pairing of Colin Whelan and Austin Elliot. Afterwards Connolly thanked his sponsors Serpent Motorsport, IDM Engines, ATS tyres and Merlin fuel for their support of his successful campaign.
Also The 1:8 and 1:10 victories on the same day gave Connolly his third consecutive double National victory of the season.
The Irishman’s next challenge is the EFRA 1:8 Onroad European Championships in Valencia, Spain, which get underway next weekend where the Serpent driver will be looking for a strong showing having done well there earlier this year at the Warm Up race.
Congratulations to Clive for his Title and the best luck for upcoming Euro 1:8 in Valencia and Irish 1:10 title.

Cto. de España Touring gas Valladolid
El pasado fin de semana se disputó la tercera prueba del campeonato de España de Touring en Valladolid.
El tiempo se mantuvo establ durante toda la prueba, a excepción del Sábado cuando algunas gotas de lluvia se cayeron en el circuito, sin llegar a alterar el desarrollo normal de la prueba.
Con 77 pilotos y el título aún en juego, la prueba resultó muy entretenida y disputada.
La clasificación final fue:

2. Hugo santos - 92 laps
3. Eduardo Escandón - 90 laps.
4. Oscar Cabezas - 90 laps
5. Luis C. Martínez - 89 laps

Spanish Nats. 1:10 200mm. 3rd round
The 3rd round for Spanish Nats 1:10 took place last weekend in Valladolid.
The weather was stable throughout the weekend. Only on Saturday we had some light rain, but not enough to alter the development of the race.
With 77 entries and the Spanish title to be decided yet, the race was very interesting and disputed.

Some unusual drivers in the Spanish 1:10 nats, as Oscar cabezas, attended the race to prepare for the upcoming Worlds to be disputed next month in Lisbon.

Euro Championship 1:10 235 mm.
The Euro 1:10 235mm. Euro Championship, took place last weekend in Heemstede (Netherlands).
Also the Euro 1:8 +40 took place at the same time.
1:10 235 mm. Qualifying was dominated by out Team Driver Robin D’Hont, followed by Julius Kolff, former champion Glyn Beal and René Cornella, all them taking direct qualifying.
The very first laps in 1:10 were a close fight between Robin D’Hont and Kloff. Julius Kloff whose car seemed to brake better, hit D’Hont a couple of times. After the second refuelling Robin Had an incident when leaving boxes making him lost 3 laps
Robin went to track again and managed get a 2nd ahead Cornella, who finished 3rd.

El Domingo concluyó en el circuito de Heemstede (Holanda) el campeonato de Europa de 1:10 235mm. que se ha disputado en paralelo al Cto. de Europa de 1:8 TT.
También se ha celebrado de forma simultánea el campeonato de Europa de 1:8 pista +40.
En 1:10 235 mm. las clasificatorias fueron dominadas por nuestro Merlin Team Driver Robin D’Hont, seguido de Julius Kolff, el campeón 2007 Glyn Beal y René Cornella. Esto cuatro pilotos accedieron directamente a la final.
Las primeras vueltas de la final 1:10 235, estuvieron marcadas por una lucha cerrada entre Robin D’Hont y Kolff. Julius Kolff llegó a golpear a D’Hont por detrás en al menos 2 ocasiones. El desastre para Robin llegó a la salida de su segundo respostaje (min. 14 de carrera) cuando al salir de boxes, fue embestido por detrás y sufrió una parada de motor que le costó perder 3 vueltas en favor del hasta entonces segundo Kolff.
Repuesto de este incidente, Robin, afrontó el resto de la final con una conducción precisa, que le hizo remontar hasta la segunda posición, por delante de René Cornella.

Así pues, un excelente resultado en el campeonato de Europa en el que Merlin Fuel ha conseguido 2 puestos en el podium de la mano de Robin D’Hont y René Cornella, además de la pole y record de vuelta en carrera.

El Sábado 5 concluyó el Campeonato de Europa de 1:8 TT en Creta.
La clasificación final ha sido:

En los últimos años, no ha sido habitual que el ganador del warmup, se haga con la victoria en el campeonato.

12 hours in Rubí
Last weekend took place the “12 horas de Rubí” endurance race in Rubí (near Barcelona). This is a really hard endurance test, not only for car an engine, but for the drivers as well.
15 Teams, met in Rubí to complete over 13.000 laps to the Track.
After just five years, this meeting, is becoming a Rally Game Classic in Spain.
Starting the race at 0,00 and finishing 12 hours later, everything can happen.
