The Portuguese Nat. Championship – North, took place last weekend in Vila Real

North Portuguese 1:10 Championship

Filipe Pinheiro got the 1st place in the extremely fast Portuguese track, where it is quite hard to complete 30 minutes without tyre changing and not every driver is able to run 5 minutes with one fuel tank.

With the 6th round yet to be run, Clive Connolly has retained his National Title, winning the 5th round last Sunday in St. Annes Track.

2008 Irish Champion

Starting from pole the Team Serpent Ireland driver cruised to victory, despite an early tyre stop, to win ahead of the Kyosho pairing of Colin Whelan and Austin Elliot.  Afterwards Connolly thanked his sponsors Serpent Motorsport, IDM Engines, ATS tyres and Merlin fuel for their support of his successful campaign.

Also The 1:8 and 1:10 victories on the same day gave Connolly his third consecutive double National victory of the season.
The Irishman’s next challenge is the EFRA 1:8 Onroad European Championships in Valencia, Spain, which get underway next weekend where the Serpent driver will be looking for a strong showing having done well there earlier this year at the Warm Up race.

The Euro 1:10 235mm. Euro Championship, took place last weekend in Heemstede (Netherlands).

Also the Euro 1:8 +40 took place at the same time.

1:10 235 mm. Qualifying was dominated by out Team Driver Robin D’Hont, followed by Julius Kolff, former champion Glyn Beal and René Cornella, all them taking direct qualifying.

The very first laps in 1:10 were a close fight between Robin D’Hont and Kloff. Julius Kloff whose car seemed to brake better, hit D’Hont a couple of times. After the second refuelling Robin Had an incident when leaving boxes making him lost 3 laps

Robin went to track again and managed get a 2nd ahead Cornella, who finished 3rd.

Last weekend took place the «12 horas de Rubí» endurance race in Rubí (near Barcelona).  This is a really hard endurance test, not only for car an engine, but for the drivers as well.

15 Teams, met in Rubí to complete over 13.000 laps to the Track.
After just five years, this meeting, is becoming a Rally Game Classic in Spain.

Starting the race at 0,00 and finishing 12 hours later, everything can happen.
